How long are BYU-Pathway semesters? ›

BYU-Idaho Online Degree Academic Calendar | BYU-Pathway. This calendar is for students taking 14-week semester courses.

BYU-Idaho operates year-round with three distinct 14-week semesters: Fall, Winter, and Spring. Each student is admitted to a track consisting of two semesters: Fall/Winter, Winter/Spring, or Spring/Fall. The two semesters of the students' track are when they will enroll in classes.

Summer Session at BYU-Idaho is a shortened semester that lasts for seven weeks from late July to September.

Students are expected to attend all three semesters and graduate within four years.

Among these challenging classes, Proctor explained that MATH 112, STAT 121, CHEM 105 and ECON 110 are “notorious for being really difficult,” and usually steers students away from taking those classes so early-on.

Through BYU-Pathway Worldwide, BYU-Idaho and Ensign College offer 90–96 credit degrees, allowing students to finish an online bachelor's degree in three years! The optimized degree program saves you time and money by eliminating elective credits.

Students must earn a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher to be eligible to earn a BYU-Idaho degree.

Students across CES campuses are expected to dress in ways that align with the dress and grooming principles. Are there specific changes in dress and grooming now? Yes. For example, students on each campus will be allowed to wear shorts, provided those shorts are in keeping with the principles and expectations given.

Can you wear leggings at BYU-Idaho? ›

Form fitting pants (yoga, leggings, etc.) must be solid black in color (no patterns, designs, or writing). Sweat pants and other types of loose fitting exercise pants can be any color, but should not have writing on the rear.

BYU is a private university owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, whose general membership has committed to not using alcohol, tobacco, coffee, or tea. Accordingly, no smoking or drinking of alcohol, coffee, or tea is permitted on the BYU campus, though other caffeinated beverages are allowed.

If you will only need to miss one semester of your assigned track, we recommend the Continuing Student Deferment. If you will need to interrupt your studies for more than one semester, please contact the Admissions Office at 208-496-1411 to discuss your enrollment options.

Brigham Young University will implement a 3% increase for undergraduate tuition for the 2023–24 academic year. This will bring the undergraduate rate per semester from $3,152 to $3,248, an increase of $96.

Repeating Courses

Students may repeat any course taken at BYU if the course is still being taught or an equivalent course exists. However, all grades are calculated into the GPA and all credit counts in the total hours. BYU does not remove the previous credit or grade from the transcript.

Term classes are condensed to eight weeks. Spring term classes run from the end of April to mid-June. Summer term classes run from mid-June to mid-August. (See the Academic Calendar for exact dates.)

PathwayConnect is a one-year (three-semester) reduced-cost online program offered through BYU–Pathway Worldwide. It prepares students to start or finish a degree by building spiritual confidence and teaching foundational academic skills.

Students gather for either 2 or 2.5 hours each week. This includes one hour for an academic gathering, plus a religion gathering that ranges from 1 hour to 90 minutes. Students participate in institute, and available courses and gathering times vary at each institute location.

As a BYU-Pathway Worldwide student, you are invited to attend Ensign College's commencement ceremony, held annually in April.
