Kate Hudson as Andie Anderson

Hudson had already been nominated for an Oscar for Almost Famous (2000) several years before she played Andie in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003). Since the film's release, Hudson has stayed center in the spotlight and went on to star in films including Fool's Gold (2008), Bride Wars (2009), Something Borrowed (2011), Wish I Was Here (2014), Mother's Day (2016), Music (2021) and Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery (2022).

Hudson has also been featured on Glee as strict dance instructor Cassandra July, and on Apple TV+'s Truth Be Told.

Some of Hudson's ventures outside of acting include launching her clothing brand, Fabletics, and a vodka company, King St. Vodka. Hudson published a book in 2016 titled Pretty Happy: Healthy Ways to Love Your Body, and co-hosts the podcast Sibling Revelry with her brother, Oliver.

Hudson has three kids, son Ryder with her ex-husband Chris Robinson, son Bingham with ex-fiancé Matt Bellamy and daughter Rani Rose with current fiancé Danny Fujikawa.

Matthew McConaughey as Ben Barry

Alright, alright, alright. In the years since McConaughey's charismatic Ben worked overtime to get Kate Hudson's Andie to fall in love with him within 10 days, the actor has enjoyed serious success. Perhaps most notably, McConaughey starred in Dallas Buyers Club (2013), which won him an Academy Award for Best Actor.

McConaughey hit the big screen with roles in Magic Mike (2012), Mud (2012) and Interstellar (2014). Slightly later, he starred in the first season of HBO's True Detective and voiced Buster Moon in the Sing franchise.

The actor is known for his marketing campaign with the Lincoln Motor Company, in which he delivers quasi-philosophical monologues while driving around in Lincoln cars. He also took on gun control advocacy following the mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas, his hometown. In 2020, McConaughey published a memoir, Greenlights. His second book, Just Because, will be a picture book for kids that explores all of life's little complexities.

McConaughey and his wife Camila Alves married in 2012 and share three children, Levi, Vida and Livingston.

Kathryn Hahn as Michelle

In one of her first roles, Hahn played Andie's BFF, whose unceremonious dumping inspired Andie to pitch the film's titular article. The following year, Hahn appeared in the smash hit, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004).

Hahn went on to act in films like Step Brothers (2008), Revolutionary Road (2008) and Wanderlust (2012). She perfected the role of the romantic comedy sidekick before moving into lead roles in films including Afternoon Delight (2013) and Bad Moms (2016). In 2022, Hahn was reunited onscreen with Hudson in the Oscar-nominated film Glass Onion.

Hahn's work extends to television, acting on series like HBO's I Know This Much Is True and Disney+'s WandaVision. Her character, Agatha Harkness, is getting her own spin-off series, Agatha: Coven of Chaos.

Hahn has been married to Ethan Sandler since 2002, and the two share a son and a daughter, Leonard Henry and Mae Marie.

Adam Goldberg as Tony

Before playing one of Ben's buddies who is witness to the whole experiment going down (and almost sabotages it), Goldberg was featured in a wide range of films, from Dazed and Confused (1993) to Saving Private Ryan (1998) to A Beautiful Mind (2001). Since the rom-com, Goldberg has extensively acted on television on shows like Fargo, Taken and The Equalizer.

In addition to his screen work, Goldberg is a multi-instrumentalist. In 2009, he released an album titled Eros and Omissions that featured Flaming Lips drummer Steven Drozd, with whom he had collaborated on musical arrangements and composition for the film I Love Your Work (2005).

Goldberg is married to artist and designer Roxanne Daner, with whom he has had three sons. The couple's first son, Bix, was born stillborn in 2012. In 2014, the couple welcomed their second son, Bud, and in 2018, their third, Sonny.

Thomas Lennon as Thayer

Lennon has kept on with rom-coms since playing Ben's buddy in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. Among his extensive film credits are 17 Again (2009), I Love You, Man (2009), The Dark Knight Rises (2012) and We're the Millers (2013). Lennon is also well known for his roles on comedy series like the Reno 911! franchise and Bajillion Dollar Propertie$.

The actor is an accomplished comedy screenwriter with credits including Night at the Museum (2006) and Balls of Fury (2007). Lennon has written three young adult novels — Ronan Boyle and the Bridge of Riddles, Ronan Boyle and the Swamp of Certain Death and Ronan Boyle into the Strangeplace — the first of which was a New York Times best seller.

Lennon is married to actress Jenny Robertson, and the couple share a son, Oliver, born in 2009.

Annie Parisse as Jeannie

Parisse had primarily been in soap operas before landing the role of one of Andie's friends. She has worked steadily on TV since, on shows like Vinyl and Friends from College. She starred alongside Al Pacino in the 2018 film Paterno. Parisse has also appeared on stage in the New York Public Theater's Shakespeare in the Park's Measure for Measure, and All's Well That Ends Well.

Parisse and her husband, actor Paul Sparks, have a son, Emmett, born in 2009, and a daughter, Lydia, born in 2014.

Bebe Neuwirth as Lana Jong

Neuwirth was well known for her roles on Frasier on TV and in Chicago on Broadway (which won her a Tony award in 1997) before starring as Andie's tough boss at Composure magazine.

She continues to work on TV, Broadway and film. Neuwirth starred on Madame Secretary on CBS, and had a cameo in Netflix's Tick, Tick...Boom! (2021).

Neuwirth married director, producer and writer Chris Calkins in a ceremony officiated by fellow actor Peter Coyote.
